DISCUSSION TOPIC
Councilmember Rene Mancho discussed the U.S. Marine Transportation System (MTS). The presentation covered what MTS is, its role, and importance to the Nation and Hawaii. The Marine Transportation System is a national network of ports and inland waterways focusing on all aspects of the maritime industry. It is the voice of the public at a national level.
Brad Rimell conducted an impromptu panel discussion on how this whole thing ties in with maritime safety in Hawaii.

Deputy Fire Chief John Clark introduced his new book Hawai’i Place Names: Shores, Beaches, and Surf Sites.
Captain Kanazawa gave an update on Homeland Security.
Bob Perkins gave a tour of the facility.
